If a company is still using indigo as their pop3 would you see a reason to move ? Any chance of legacy services like this being shut down?
Hi Trev
I would look at moving to Gmail or Hotmail .. I would not be confident of the Indigo pop3 accounts being around forever.
Hello, I recently changed ti ID mobile modem, I cant get email in or out since in my computer, they come in on Gmail on my phone ok, my email is with eircom..
Thank you, Brian
When I set eircom’s outgoing mail server to mail1.eircom.net OR mail2.eircom.net it works for one message and then seizes up again. Incoming mail is working fine. Any suggestions? Thanks! Louis
Having trouble replying and sending emails from my phone. The email is ?????@eircom.net
Hi David
Using Three / o2 or 48 by any chance?
This may be of help to anybody with an eircom.net email address trying to send emails via their mobile phone. however it only works with WiFi switched off!!!!
Scenario 1: Iphone which has been on the O2 network for years but is now obviously 3. Use SMTP Server Address smtp.o2.ie
Scenario 2. Samsung S6 which was on Emobile network up to a couple of months ago but now switched to 3 smtp.o2.ie DOES NOT WORK. Use mail-relay.3ireland.ie instead
Addendum to above. If you need to use WiFi ( for speed or whatever) to send mail then you need to change your SMTP address to the providers address e.g. Eircom – mail1.eircom.net; Sky – smtp.tools.sky.com (needs further config port, security etc see http://www.e-mailsettings.com/iphone/sky-mail-setup/) Complete pain and seems to be only if you are trying to send mail from an eircom.net account. Gmail or exchange works irrespective of connection type or network!!
anyone set up outlook 2010 for gmail – going nuts have enabled less secure apps, imap, ssl 465
Hi Tom,
What settings are you using? Did you change the outgoing port when you enabled ssl?
Anyone know the outgoing mail settings for iD mobile please
Still haven’t got them 🙁 Did anyone get them. I can only receive Eircom emails but cannot send
Hi, I have an @eircom email address and am using vodafone broadband. The mail.vodafone.ie smtp would not work so I changed to mail.iol.ie
This works fine but gmail have now stopped receiving my mail as it is unauthenticated. It went into gmail spam folders for a few months but now I am getting an error on sending to any gmail account.
Any suggestions?
We have used an IOL Gold Account for years “name@iol.ie” but have had difficulties in the last six months with the Outgoing Server failing to send. The previous SMTP was “mail1.eircom.net”. BTIreland which owns IOL now have stopped supporting residential customers in Ireland according to their website. Also we changed Broadband provider from eircom to Virgin in the meantime. Still getting incoming mail through “pop.iol.ie”, presumably from the BTIreland pop server. Anyone out there know of a solution?
The smtp for Virgin server name is smtp.upcmail.ie port is 25
what is the outgoing mail server settings for sky using an eircom.net a/c as the main email address
I’d been struggling with this for maybe a year and finally got it fixed. Outgoing settings:
mail1.eircom.net
Port number SMTP 25
Outgoing server requires authentication
Use the same username and password
Outgoing does not require SSL
Does anyone know if smtp.magnet.ie has a limit on how many emails can be sent per day or hour?
Hi, does anyone know the smtp code for pure telecom using an Eircom.net email please?

Hi,
